Dr Captain Robert E."Bob" Eckstein is a well known Bozemanite largely responsible for the downfall of the Bozeman area. Shortly after he moveed there on August 23, 1992, all of his fans followed him, causing unsightly population growth.

He is well known for announcing "My Ohio team is Kickin' Ass" even when they are getting blown out or routed by the other team.

Belgrade woman dies in water skiing accident

BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) - A 53-year-old Belgrade woman who was water skiing on Ennis Lake died after she crashed into the shore.

Madison County Sheriff Dave Schenk says Phyllis Kessler died Sunday at Madison Valley Hospital after the 7:15 p.m. accident.

Schenk says the boat towing Kessler approached a restricted area. The driver began to turn around but there wasn't enough room for the arc of the skier. Schenk didn't know how fast the boat was traveling when the accident occurred.

If they expected us to retire quietly from the scene, the political elite are in for a surprise.

Today I am making some very big announcements.

First, from August 31 to September 2 in Minneapolis, we will host a handful of events that will shake the political establishment. Everything will culminate on Tuesday with the official launch of the Campaign for Liberty at the Rally for the Republic.

The Campaign for Liberty will be the largest organization for peace, freedom, the Constitution, and sound money in American history. It will launch in grand fashion with lots of special guests and - if the early television and print inquiries we've received are any indication - plenty of media attention.

I would like to personally invite you and your family to join me and thousands of others in Minneapolis for these events and send a message to the Republican Party.

Tickets will go on sale for the Rally for the Republic this Friday, July 25 @ 10AM CST. We want this to be an unforgettable day, so we are holding a ticket bomb all day Friday in the tradition of our famous money bombs. How many seats can we sell on the first day?

In patriotic fashion all tickets will cost $17.76, so you can afford to bring the whole family.

This leads me to the second big announcement. After measuring the excitement and enthusiasm, we decided that the Williams Arena at the University of Minnesota was just too small to hold you. Therefore, we are making a significant upgrade. The Rally for the Republic will now take place at the Target Center, the largest arena in Minneapolis!

This promises to be the most spirited and provocative political event of the year! We held some very large rallies during the presidential campaign, but I have never attempted anything of this scale before. Its success rests entirely in your hands.

Later this week I will announce two internationally renowned musicians as headliners for the Rally for the Republic. We'll also be joined by rock star Aimee Allen, NBC's Tucker Carlson, Barry Goldwater Jr., Gov. Gary Johnson, conservative stalwart Grover Norquist, former Reagan deputy Attorney General Bruce Fein, presidential historian Doug Wead, MTV's Adam Curry, musician Mark Scibilia, and Frank Sinatra impersonator Rick Ellis. Other special guests will be announced soon.

Fed auctions $75 billion to banks to ease credit woes, total is $435 billion since December

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Battling to relieve stressed credit markets, the Federal Reserve said Tuesday it has provided a total of $435 billion in short-term loans to squeezed banks since December to help them overcome credit problems.

The central bank announced the results of its most recent auction -- $75 billion in short-term loans -- the 11th such auction since the program started in December.

It's part of an ongoing effort by the Fed to help ease the credit crunch, which erupted last August, intensified in December and January and took another turn for the worst in March.

The housing, credit and financial crises have weakened the economy and threaten to push it into recession.

In the latest auction, commercial banks paid an interest rate of 2.220 percent for the loans.

There were 71 bidders for the slice of the $75 billion in 28-day loans. The Fed received bids for $96.62 billion worth of the loans. The auction was conducted on Monday with the results released Tuesday.

In mid-December the Fed announced it was creating an auction program that would give banks a new way to get short-term loans from the central bank and to help them over the credit hump. A global credit crisis has made banks reluctant to lend to each other, which has crimped lending to individuals and businesses.

The smooth flow of credit is the economy's life blood. It permits people to finance big-ticket purchases, such as homes and cars, and help businesses to expand operations and hire workers.

Credit problems worsened earlier this year, driving investment house Bear Stearns to the brink of bankruptcy and spurring fears other big Wall Street firms could be in jeopardy. Wanting to avert a broader panic that could endanger the entire U.S. financial system, the Fed took a number of extraordinary moves to provide relief. In its broadest extension of lending authority since the 1930s, the central bank agreed to temporarily let investment firms obtain emergency loans directly from the Fed, a privilege that only commercial banks had been granted.

The toll of housing and credit problems, however, have made both people and businesses more cautious in their spending. And that has significantly weakened the overall economy.

Last week the Fed announced it was boosting the amount of loans auctioned to commercial banks to $150 billion in May, up from the $100 billion it made available in April.

The central bank is expected to focus more on these and other efforts to help banks and investment firms overcome any credit problems as it winds down an aggressive rate-cutting campaign that started last September.

To help bolster the economy, the Fed also last week lowered a key interest rate by one-quarter percentage point to 2 percent. However, it signaled that may be the last reduction for some time. The Fed is hoping that its powerful rate cuts along with the government stimulus package of tax rebates will help lift the economy out of its funk in the second half of this year.

I'm curious if this really works, but like most clickbank websites, this might fail. The cool thing about clickbank is that if you buy from them, you have 60 days to get your money back. I did this once, and it was the easiest phone call cancellation I ever made.
